Makings - Crochet banana
I'm so very nearly finished my Nordic Shawl, and I'm just loving the prettiness of the colours in it. I think they work so well together and I can't wait until it's ready to wear.
But the make I'm sharing this week is a quick little one that two of the boys requested.
The primary school sports day is later on this week. David (9) and Alasdair (6) are both in the same team, and this year the teams have all been named after fruits. For golden time the last few weeks each team has been getting ready for sports day - making flags, posters and signs for their teams. The boys both told the teacher in charge of their team that I could crochet them a mascot.
And so that's how I found myself spending a couple of hours last week crocheting a banana.
The pattern was a free one I found on Ravelry here.
David and Alasdair are delighted with him, and Fraser (1) has become rather attached to him too.
In fact I have just realised that I am calling him 'him' already too!
And since everyone is so attached to him, they have now requested a fruit bowl full of fruit friends for him.
But first I need to finish off that pretty Nordic Shawl!

That is so cute! I want a bowl of cute fruit like that! :)
ReplyDeleteOh he is very cute... and I love your new blog; it is so bright and crisp, very nice. I like how you have linked to your old blog, I was wondering if that was something that was "do-able". I have been a bit behind on my blogging the last couple of weeks, so this came as a surprise.
